Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase

Description

Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase, or IDO, is an intracellular protein expressed by certain antigen-presenting cells. It catabolizes the degradation of the essential amino acid tryptophan, which is necessary for T cell proliferation. Thus, IDO possess immunoregulatory properties.
