Description

This is a promotional piece done for a mock-journal cover. There are interesting developments in nerve stimulation where it has been found that infrared light pulses to a neuron induce an action potential. The infrared light causes a local increase in heat that depolarizes the cell. Hearing aids are being developed to utilize this technology because it has the potential to deliver a broader range of sound frequencies to the patient.
